I’m Don Oxley I’m 46 years old and I’ve been surfing the North Jetty’s and Talbot Point for over 30 years. I’ve been involved in youth work for 12 years and stoked God has called me to serve him. I played religious games for much of my life until I realized a relationship with the creator of the wind and waves was possible. Jesus became my Lord and Savior at age 27, and I haven't been the same since. My personal goal with Christian Surfers Jax is to expose the Jesus I know to those I identify with through surfing. Surfers are like a tribe, only we understand each other and understand what compels us to do what we do. My wife Cindy and two children Josh and Candice love the Lord and serve Him as well. I believe its because of my obedience to the Lord to be the spiritual leader of my home and to share Christ with others. He has blessed so much.   When I was seven years old, I prayed a prayer of salvation and thought then that I was saved. Through middle and high school, I was very involved in my church youth group, but began to doubt my salvation. I finally sucked up my pride and nailed down my salvation by praying with my heart. This was at summer high school camp before my senior year. It was the best thing I ever did and I finally felt free. My dad is the biggest influence in my life and I felt my dad led me to Christ . He is someone I look up to, whether he thinks so or not! He taught me to surf when I was young and I’ve been addicted ever since. Surfing is a way of life, and Christian Surfers has opened a door of opportunity. You are doing something you love, and at the same time, you can point others to Christ. You know that endless search? It can stop with Jesus!
