-- CSUS is a national Christian ministry to the "surfing nation" founded in 1984 in Santa Barbara, California.

In 1986 a second chapter was started in Ventura, and in 1990 the networking organization North American Christian Surfing Federation (NACSF) was formed. Later, NACSF was dissolved to get back to our roots of strong chapters and to become part of the worldwide Christian Surfers movement.

-- In 1995 CSUS started its first contest season. As CSUS moved into 1996, over 400 surfers and body boarders competed in California contests that year. With growth and national demand for more Chapters, a full time National Director was added.

-- Over the years, CSUS has continued to grow and has remained committed to the plan of serving the church through our local outreach ministries. Currently, CSUS operates chapters in Hawaii, California, Florida, North Carolina, Virginia, New Jersey, and Maine.
Presently, Chandler Brownlee is the National Director, Trevor Kendall is the West Coast Coordinator and Joe Matera is the East Coast Coordinator.

-- Christian Surfers United States is affiliated with Christian Surfers International whose ministries began in Australia back in 1976. Now Christian Surfers operates in countries all over the world including New Zealand, Tahiti, Japan, Australia, South Africa, Germany, Indonesia, United Kingdom, France, Portugal, and the United States. These surfing ministries from all over the world meet every two years for the Christian Surfers International Conference.
